How to work it out
- Divide the part by the whole: 18 ÷ 9 = 2
- Multiply by 100: 2 × 100 = 200%
- Check: Work backwards: 200% of 9 is 2 × 9 = 18.
Another method. As a proportion of part to whole: 18/9 = p/100, so p = 18 × 100 ÷ 9 = 200%. Both methods always give the same answer.
