How to work it out
- Turn the percentage into a decimal: 24 ÷ 100 = 0.24
- Multiply: 0.24 × 7 = 1.68
- Check: Work backwards: 1.68 ÷ 7 × 100 = 24%.
Another method. As a proportion of part to whole: 24/100 = part/7, so part = 24 × 7 ÷ 100 = 1.68. Both methods always give the same answer.
