Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 2: 5, 0.
- Every answer ends in 0 or 5.
- Split it into tens and ones: 325 × k = 320 × k + 5 × k.
- Each answer is 325 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 325.
Building it from tables you already know
To multiply 325 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 325 away: 3,250 − 325 = 2,925. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 325: 3,250 + 325 = 3,575. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 325 → 650 → 1,300.
Every multiple of 325 is at least 325, so there are none below 100 and 3 below 1,000. A number is in the 325 times table exactly when it divides by 325 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 325 is odd, the answers alternate between odd and even: 325 × 1 = 325 is odd, 325 × 2 = 650 is even, and so on. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 325 × 10 = 3,250, and 325 × 100 = 32,500. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 3,250 is 1,625.
Using the 325 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 325 × 7 = 2,275, you know 2,275 ÷ 325 = 7 and 2,275 ÷ 7 = 325. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 325 pencils. How many pencils are in 6 boxes?
Answer
6 × 325 = 1,950 pencils. - Tickets cost $325 each. How much do 4 tickets cost?
Answer
4 × $325 = $1,300. - 650 chairs are set out in rows of 325. How many rows are there?
Answer
650 ÷ 325 = 2 rows. - A plant grows 325 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 10 weeks?
Answer
10 × 325 = 3,250 millimetres.
Questions
What is 325 × 12?
3,900.
What is half of 325 × 8?
325 × 8 = 2,600, and half of that is 1,300, which is 325 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 325 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 325 contain nothing.
What is 325 × 7 and 325 × 8?
325 × 7 = 2,275 and 325 × 8 = 2,600. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 4,875 in the 325 times table?
Yes: 4,875 ÷ 325 = 15 with no remainder. 4,876 is not, because dividing it by 325 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 325 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
