How to work it out
- Turn the percentage into a decimal: 250 ÷ 100 = 2.5
- Multiply: 2.5 × 10 = 25
- Check: Work backwards: 25 ÷ 10 × 100 = 250%.
Another method. As a proportion of part to whole: 250/100 = part/10, so part = 250 × 10 ÷ 100 = 25. Both methods always give the same answer.
