Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 5: 4, 8, 2, 6, 0.
- Every answer is even, because 1314 is even.
- The digits of every answer add up to a multiple of 9.
- Split it into tens and ones: 1314 × k = 1310 × k + 4 × k.
- Each answer is 1314 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 1314.
Building it from tables you already know
Every answer in the 1314 times table is double the answer in the 657 times table: 657 × 6 = 3,942, so 1314 × 6 = 7,884. To multiply 1314 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 1314 away: 13,140 − 1314 = 11,826. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 1314: 13,140 + 1314 = 14,454. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 1314 → 2,628 → 5,256.
Every multiple of 1314 is at least 1314, so there are none below 100 and 0 below 1,000. A number is in the 1314 times table exactly when it divides by 1314 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 1314 is even, every answer in its table is even, which is a quick way to catch a wrong answer. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 1314 × 10 = 13,140, and 1314 × 100 = 131,400. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 13,140 is 6,570.
Using the 1314 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 1314 × 7 = 9,198, you know 9,198 ÷ 1314 = 7 and 9,198 ÷ 7 = 1314. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 1314 pencils. How many pencils are in 8 boxes?
Answer
8 × 1314 = 10,512 pencils. - Tickets cost $1314 each. How much do 9 tickets cost?
Answer
9 × $1314 = $11,826. - 7,884 chairs are set out in rows of 1314. How many rows are there?
Answer
7,884 ÷ 1314 = 6 rows. - A plant grows 1314 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 7 weeks?
Answer
7 × 1314 = 9,198 millimetres.
Questions
What is 1314 × 12?
15,768.
What is half of 1314 × 8?
1314 × 8 = 10,512, and half of that is 5,256, which is 1314 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 1314 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 1314 contain nothing.
What is 1314 × 7 and 1314 × 8?
1314 × 7 = 9,198 and 1314 × 8 = 10,512. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 19,710 in the 1314 times table?
Yes: 19,710 ÷ 1314 = 15 with no remainder. 19,711 is not, because dividing it by 1314 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 1314 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
