Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 2: 5, 0.
- Every answer ends in 0 or 5.
- Split it into tens and ones: 1365 × k = 1360 × k + 5 × k.
- Each answer is 1365 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 1365.
Building it from tables you already know
To multiply 1365 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 1365 away: 13,650 − 1365 = 12,285. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 1365: 13,650 + 1365 = 15,015. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 1365 → 2,730 → 5,460.
Every multiple of 1365 is at least 1365, so there are none below 100 and 0 below 1,000. A number is in the 1365 times table exactly when it divides by 1365 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 1365 is odd, the answers alternate between odd and even: 1365 × 1 = 1365 is odd, 1365 × 2 = 2,730 is even, and so on. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 1365 × 10 = 13,650, and 1365 × 100 = 136,500. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 13,650 is 6,825.
Using the 1365 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 1365 × 7 = 9,555, you know 9,555 ÷ 1365 = 7 and 9,555 ÷ 7 = 1365. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 1365 pencils. How many pencils are in 8 boxes?
Answer
8 × 1365 = 10,920 pencils. - Tickets cost $1365 each. How much do 5 tickets cost?
Answer
5 × $1365 = $6,825. - 4,095 chairs are set out in rows of 1365. How many rows are there?
Answer
4,095 ÷ 1365 = 3 rows. - A plant grows 1365 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 12 weeks?
Answer
12 × 1365 = 16,380 millimetres.
Questions
What is 1365 × 12?
16,380.
What is half of 1365 × 8?
1365 × 8 = 10,920, and half of that is 5,460, which is 1365 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 1365 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 1365 contain nothing.
What is 1365 × 7 and 1365 × 8?
1365 × 7 = 9,555 and 1365 × 8 = 10,920. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 20,475 in the 1365 times table?
Yes: 20,475 ÷ 1365 = 15 with no remainder. 20,476 is not, because dividing it by 1365 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 1365 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
