Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 5: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0.
- Every answer is even, because 1512 is even.
- The digits of every answer add up to a multiple of 9.
- Split it into tens and ones: 1512 × k = 1510 × k + 2 × k.
- Each answer is 1512 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 1512.
Building it from tables you already know
Every answer in the 1512 times table is double the answer in the 756 times table: 756 × 6 = 4,536, so 1512 × 6 = 9,072. To multiply 1512 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 1512 away: 15,120 − 1512 = 13,608. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 1512: 15,120 + 1512 = 16,632. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 1512 → 3,024 → 6,048.
Every multiple of 1512 is at least 1512, so there are none below 100 and 0 below 1,000. A number is in the 1512 times table exactly when it divides by 1512 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 1512 is even, every answer in its table is even, which is a quick way to catch a wrong answer. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 1512 × 10 = 15,120, and 1512 × 100 = 151,200. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 15,120 is 7,560.
Using the 1512 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 1512 × 7 = 10,584, you know 10,584 ÷ 1512 = 7 and 10,584 ÷ 7 = 1512. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 1512 pencils. How many pencils are in 6 boxes?
Answer
6 × 1512 = 9,072 pencils. - Tickets cost $1512 each. How much do 11 tickets cost?
Answer
11 × $1512 = $16,632. - 13,608 chairs are set out in rows of 1512. How many rows are there?
Answer
13,608 ÷ 1512 = 9 rows. - A plant grows 1512 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 10 weeks?
Answer
10 × 1512 = 15,120 millimetres.
Questions
What is 1512 × 12?
18,144.
What is half of 1512 × 8?
1512 × 8 = 12,096, and half of that is 6,048, which is 1512 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 1512 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 1512 contain nothing.
What is 1512 × 7 and 1512 × 8?
1512 × 7 = 10,584 and 1512 × 8 = 12,096. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 22,680 in the 1512 times table?
Yes: 22,680 ÷ 1512 = 15 with no remainder. 22,681 is not, because dividing it by 1512 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 1512 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
