Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 1: 0.
- Every answer is even, because 1530 is even.
- The digits of every answer add up to a multiple of 9.
- Every answer ends in 0 or 5.
- Split it into tens and ones: 1530 × k = 1530 × k + 0 × k.
- Each answer is 1530 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 1530.
Building it from tables you already know
Every answer in the 1530 times table is double the answer in the 765 times table: 765 × 6 = 4,590, so 1530 × 6 = 9,180. To multiply 1530 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 1530 away: 15,300 − 1530 = 13,770. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 1530: 15,300 + 1530 = 16,830. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 1530 → 3,060 → 6,120.
Every multiple of 1530 is at least 1530, so there are none below 100 and 0 below 1,000. A number is in the 1530 times table exactly when it divides by 1530 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 1530 is even, every answer in its table is even, which is a quick way to catch a wrong answer. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 1530 × 10 = 15,300, and 1530 × 100 = 153,000. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 15,300 is 7,650.
Using the 1530 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 1530 × 7 = 10,710, you know 10,710 ÷ 1530 = 7 and 10,710 ÷ 7 = 1530. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 1530 pencils. How many pencils are in 5 boxes?
Answer
5 × 1530 = 7,650 pencils. - Tickets cost $1530 each. How much do 10 tickets cost?
Answer
10 × $1530 = $15,300. - 10,710 chairs are set out in rows of 1530. How many rows are there?
Answer
10,710 ÷ 1530 = 7 rows. - A plant grows 1530 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 8 weeks?
Answer
8 × 1530 = 12,240 millimetres.
Questions
What is 1530 × 12?
18,360.
What is half of 1530 × 8?
1530 × 8 = 12,240, and half of that is 6,120, which is 1530 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 1530 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 1530 contain nothing.
What is 1530 × 7 and 1530 × 8?
1530 × 7 = 10,710 and 1530 × 8 = 12,240. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 22,950 in the 1530 times table?
Yes: 22,950 ÷ 1530 = 15 with no remainder. 22,951 is not, because dividing it by 1530 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 1530 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
