Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 10: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0.
- Split it into tens and ones: 1441 × k = 1440 × k + 1 × k.
- Each answer is 1441 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 1441.
Building it from tables you already know
To multiply 1441 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 1441 away: 14,410 − 1441 = 12,969. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 1441: 14,410 + 1441 = 15,851. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 1441 → 2,882 → 5,764.
Every multiple of 1441 is at least 1441, so there are none below 100 and 0 below 1,000. A number is in the 1441 times table exactly when it divides by 1441 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 1441 is odd, the answers alternate between odd and even: 1441 × 1 = 1441 is odd, 1441 × 2 = 2,882 is even, and so on. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 1441 × 10 = 14,410, and 1441 × 100 = 144,100. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 14,410 is 7,205.
Using the 1441 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 1441 × 7 = 10,087, you know 10,087 ÷ 1441 = 7 and 10,087 ÷ 7 = 1441. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 1441 pencils. How many pencils are in 8 boxes?
Answer
8 × 1441 = 11,528 pencils. - Tickets cost $1441 each. How much do 8 tickets cost?
Answer
8 × $1441 = $11,528. - 8,646 chairs are set out in rows of 1441. How many rows are there?
Answer
8,646 ÷ 1441 = 6 rows. - A plant grows 1441 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 9 weeks?
Answer
9 × 1441 = 12,969 millimetres.
Questions
What is 1441 × 12?
17,292.
What is half of 1441 × 8?
1441 × 8 = 11,528, and half of that is 5,764, which is 1441 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 1441 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 1441 contain nothing.
What is 1441 × 7 and 1441 × 8?
1441 × 7 = 10,087 and 1441 × 8 = 11,528. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 21,615 in the 1441 times table?
Yes: 21,615 ÷ 1441 = 15 with no remainder. 21,616 is not, because dividing it by 1441 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 1441 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
