Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 2: 5, 0.
- Every answer ends in 0 or 5.
- Split it into tens and ones: 1025 × k = 1020 × k + 5 × k.
- Each answer is 1025 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 1025.
Building it from tables you already know
To multiply 1025 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 1025 away: 10,250 − 1025 = 9,225. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 1025: 10,250 + 1025 = 11,275. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 1025 → 2,050 → 4,100.
Every multiple of 1025 is at least 1025, so there are none below 100 and 0 below 1,000. A number is in the 1025 times table exactly when it divides by 1025 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 1025 is odd, the answers alternate between odd and even: 1025 × 1 = 1025 is odd, 1025 × 2 = 2,050 is even, and so on. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 1025 × 10 = 10,250, and 1025 × 100 = 102,500. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 10,250 is 5,125.
Using the 1025 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 1025 × 7 = 7,175, you know 7,175 ÷ 1025 = 7 and 7,175 ÷ 7 = 1025. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 1025 pencils. How many pencils are in 6 boxes?
Answer
6 × 1025 = 6,150 pencils. - Tickets cost $1025 each. How much do 7 tickets cost?
Answer
7 × $1025 = $7,175. - 9,225 chairs are set out in rows of 1025. How many rows are there?
Answer
9,225 ÷ 1025 = 9 rows. - A plant grows 1025 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 7 weeks?
Answer
7 × 1025 = 7,175 millimetres.
Questions
What is 1025 × 12?
12,300.
What is half of 1025 × 8?
1025 × 8 = 8,200, and half of that is 4,100, which is 1025 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 1025 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 1025 contain nothing.
What is 1025 × 7 and 1025 × 8?
1025 × 7 = 7,175 and 1025 × 8 = 8,200. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 15,375 in the 1025 times table?
Yes: 15,375 ÷ 1025 = 15 with no remainder. 15,376 is not, because dividing it by 1025 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 1025 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
