Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 2: 5, 0.
- The digits of every answer add up to a multiple of 9.
- Every answer ends in 0 or 5.
- Split it into tens and ones: 1035 × k = 1030 × k + 5 × k.
- Each answer is 1035 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 1035.
Building it from tables you already know
To multiply 1035 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 1035 away: 10,350 − 1035 = 9,315. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 1035: 10,350 + 1035 = 11,385. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 1035 → 2,070 → 4,140.
Every multiple of 1035 is at least 1035, so there are none below 100 and 0 below 1,000. A number is in the 1035 times table exactly when it divides by 1035 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 1035 is odd, the answers alternate between odd and even: 1035 × 1 = 1035 is odd, 1035 × 2 = 2,070 is even, and so on. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 1035 × 10 = 10,350, and 1035 × 100 = 103,500. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 10,350 is 5,175.
Using the 1035 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 1035 × 7 = 7,245, you know 7,245 ÷ 1035 = 7 and 7,245 ÷ 7 = 1035. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 1035 pencils. How many pencils are in 3 boxes?
Answer
3 × 1035 = 3,105 pencils. - Tickets cost $1035 each. How much do 4 tickets cost?
Answer
4 × $1035 = $4,140. - 3,105 chairs are set out in rows of 1035. How many rows are there?
Answer
3,105 ÷ 1035 = 3 rows. - A plant grows 1035 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 8 weeks?
Answer
8 × 1035 = 8,280 millimetres.
Questions
What is 1035 × 12?
12,420.
What is half of 1035 × 8?
1035 × 8 = 8,280, and half of that is 4,140, which is 1035 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 1035 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 1035 contain nothing.
What is 1035 × 7 and 1035 × 8?
1035 × 7 = 7,245 and 1035 × 8 = 8,280. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 15,525 in the 1035 times table?
Yes: 15,525 ÷ 1035 = 15 with no remainder. 15,526 is not, because dividing it by 1035 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 1035 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
