Patterns that help you remember it
- The last digits repeat in a cycle of 10: 3, 6, 9, 2, 5, 8, 1, 4, 7, 0.
- Split it into tens and ones: 433 × k = 430 × k + 3 × k.
- Each answer is 433 more than the one before, so you can count on in steps of 433.
Building it from tables you already know
To multiply 433 by 9, multiply by 10 and take one 433 away: 4,330 − 433 = 3,897. To multiply by 11, multiply by 10 and add one more 433: 4,330 + 433 = 4,763. Multiplying by 4 is doubling twice: 433 → 866 → 1,732.
Every multiple of 433 is at least 433, so there are none below 100 and 2 below 1,000. A number is in the 433 times table exactly when it divides by 433 with no remainder.
Odd, even and the last digit
Because 433 is odd, the answers alternate between odd and even: 433 × 1 = 433 is odd, 433 × 2 = 866 is even, and so on. Multiplying by 10 always puts a zero on the end: 433 × 10 = 4,330, and 433 × 100 = 43,300. Multiplying by 5 is half of multiplying by 10: half of 4,330 is 2,165.
Using the 433 times table to divide
Every fact also works backwards: because 433 × 7 = 3,031, you know 3,031 ÷ 433 = 7 and 3,031 ÷ 7 = 433. Practising the table and its division facts together halves the work.

Word problems
Times tables are most useful when you can spot them in a question. Try these, then open each one to check:
- A box holds 433 pencils. How many pencils are in 6 boxes?
Answer
6 × 433 = 2,598 pencils. - Tickets cost $433 each. How much do 9 tickets cost?
Answer
9 × $433 = $3,897. - 2,165 chairs are set out in rows of 433. How many rows are there?
Answer
2,165 ÷ 433 = 5 rows. - A plant grows 433 millimetres a week. How much does it grow in 6 weeks?
Answer
6 × 433 = 2,598 millimetres.
Questions
What is 433 × 12?
5,196.
What is half of 433 × 8?
433 × 8 = 3,464, and half of that is 1,732, which is 433 × 4. Halving one factor halves the answer.
What is 433 times 0?
0. Any number multiplied by zero is zero, because zero groups of 433 contain nothing.
What is 433 × 7 and 433 × 8?
433 × 7 = 3,031 and 433 × 8 = 3,464. These two are the facts most people find hardest, so they are worth practising on their own.
Is 6,495 in the 433 times table?
Yes: 6,495 ÷ 433 = 15 with no remainder. 6,496 is not, because dividing it by 433 leaves a remainder of 1.
How do I learn the 433 times table quickly?
Learn it in order first, then use the patterns above and practise mixed questions; a few minutes a day works better than one long session.
